Overview

Zavorium is a recipe creation and meal-planning platform with AI-assisted tools, voice features, saved meal plans, shopping lists, inventory tracking, favorites, reviews, and account personalization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the service.

Information We Collect

Account and Profile Information
  • Account identifiers such as Firebase user ID, email address, and login/session state
  • Profile and personalization information you choose to provide, such as display name, about text, favorite tags, notification preferences, and profile photo
  • Admin status for accounts that have moderator or support permissions
Recipes and Planning Data
  • Recipes you create, edit, save, or publish, including titles, ingredients, steps, tags, timing, nutrition fields, visibility settings, and images
  • Meal plans, calendar entries, shopping lists, pantry or inventory items, and AI-generated dishes or meal-plan suggestions you save
  • Favorites, reviews, ratings, and related interaction data tied to your account
AI and Usage Data
  • Prompts and inputs you provide to generate recipes, pantry dishes, meal plans, or images
  • Z-Coin wallet data, including daily allowance, remaining balance, purchased balance if ever used, ledger records, and reset state
  • Operational usage records for AI actions, which may include timestamps, request IP address, action type, estimated token counts, generated-image counts, and estimated provider cost
Voice and Audio Data
  • When supported by your browser, voice features may use in-browser speech recognition
  • When browser speech recognition is unavailable, audio you submit may be sent to our server for transcription processing
  • The codebase is designed to transcribe audio and discard the uploaded recording after processing rather than store it as a permanent user asset
Support Communications
  • Emails and support messages you send to support_zavorium@zideons.com
  • Any screenshots, attachments, account details, or troubleshooting context you choose to include

How We Use Information

Provide the Service

To authenticate users, store recipes and planning data, generate AI-assisted content, display your current Z-Coin allowance, and operate account features such as favorites, reviews, and profile settings.

Send Communications

To send account-related messages, recipe notification emails you opt into, and responses to support or account questions.

Security and Abuse Prevention

To protect accounts, manage sessions, investigate suspicious activity, enforce usage limits, and prevent misuse of AI, admin, or community features.

Improve and Maintain the Product

To troubleshoot issues, review support requests, monitor performance, and refine features such as recipe generation, search, shopping tools, and meal planning.

Z-Coins, whether granted for free or purchased, have no cash value and are intended only for use within participating Zideons apps and services.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Session Data

Zavorium uses essential cookies and related storage for login, security, and session management.

  • firebase_session is used to keep you signed in
  • Session and CSRF cookies help protect forms and authenticated requests
  • Session activity data is used to support inactivity timeout handling
  • mmx_cookie_consent is stored in localStorage to remember cookie preference choices
Current state: The project includes a cookie banner and preference controls, but the codebase does not currently include active analytics or advertising integrations. If non-essential tracking technologies are added later, this policy should be updated before launch.

Performance Caching

To improve performance and reduce loading times, the application uses in-memory caching to temporarily store frequently accessed data.

  • Cached data may include recipe listings, user profiles, categories, and search results
  • Cache is stored in server memory and cleared when the application restarts
  • Cached data expires automatically based on configured timeouts (typically 1-15 minutes)
  • Cache is invalidated when underlying data is updated to ensure freshness
Privacy note: Caching is used solely for performance optimization and does not change how your data is stored, shared, or retained. All cached data is subject to the same privacy protections as the underlying database storage.

Where Data Is Stored and Processed

Firebase and Firestore

Authentication, user documents, personalization, recipes, favorites, reviews, notification preferences, meal plans, shopping and inventory data, wallet records, and related operational records are stored using Firebase Auth and Google Firestore.

Firebase Storage

Recipe images, profile photos, and certain generated media assets may be stored in Firebase Storage.

AI Processing

Recipe generation, meal-plan generation, pantry dish suggestions, image generation, and some audio transcription functions may be processed through Google Gemini services or browser-native speech features, depending on the feature being used.

Email Delivery

Notification and support emails are sent through the configured mail delivery provider for the app.

Public Content and Visibility

Recipes may be public or private depending on the settings used when they are saved. Public recipes may appear in site listings, search results, and recipe detail pages. Private recipes are restricted to the creator and admins. Reviews, ratings, and display names you choose to publish may also be visible to other users or visitors.

Account Deletion and Retention

If you delete your account, the current code is designed to remove core account-linked data such as user profile records, personalization, notification preferences, wallets, favorites, reviews, and dedicated meal plans. The application also attempts to remove user-owned storage assets while preserving recipe images when associated recipes remain on the platform.

Recipe retention after account deletion: when a deleted user authored recipes that remain in the system, ownership fields are detached and direct identifiers such as user ID, email, and author display name are cleared, allowing the recipe content itself to remain available without remaining tied to the deleted account.

How We Share Information

We do not describe this service as selling personal information. Information is shared with service providers only as needed to operate the product, such as authentication, database hosting, storage, AI processing, and email delivery. Admin users may access information necessary for moderation, support, account management, abuse review, and platform operations.

Security

We use technical and administrative measures intended to protect account data, authenticated sessions, and stored content. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

  • Update profile and personalization information from your account settings
  • Change recipe notification preferences and favorite tags
  • Delete your account using the in-app account deletion flow
  • Control optional cookie preferences through the banner/settings UI and your browser controls
  • Contact us with privacy or account questions at support_zavorium@zideons.com

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When material changes are made, we may revise the date above and update the policy page.
